XetaComp Nanotechnology LLC (XETA), a wholly owned subsidiary of NanoBioMagnetics, Inc (NBMI), is a producer of functionalized nanomaterials that exhibit enhanced performance properties in commercial or consumer applications. Under exclusive license from NBMI, XETA is now producing and marketing a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB physical sunblock, sunVex® IM50, to be used by formulators in the cosmetics industry to impart broad-spectrum attenuation capacity in retail skincare products. SunVex IM50 is a stable high-solids (50wgt%) aqueous nanodispersion of nanoparticle titanium dioxide, surface-treated to minimize photoactivity. The company's process technology provides significant cost-economic advantages that give customers significant savings in formulation and applications development.
SunVex® IM50 formulations does not contain nor require the use of harsh chemical sunscreens for high SPF development, and skincare formulations are clear on application, not leaving a chalky residue.
XetaComp's nanofabrication technology also provides an economical route to functionalized nanomaterials having significant industrial application in the areas of protective surface coatings, purification and separation technologies, and catalysis. The science team is ready to assist clients and customers in solving their individual nanomaterial requirements.
XetaComp can also provide nanomaterial analyses and characterization services to assist clients and customers solve problems in their respective development programs. The company can provide a spectrum of characterizations that include particle size and size distribution mesurements of nanodispersions, as well as the typical SEM and TEM analyses.

Charles Seeney, President, holds a Master's degree in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Akron, OH. He is a Founder and CEO of NBMI, the parent company, and has worked as an industrial scientist for many years. He has been awarded 18 US Patents with several patents currently pending and has been published in technical journals. He leads the research and process development team in the design and preparation of nanomaterials. His entrepreneural background includes two previous technical ventures: IMCERA Bioproducts, an internal venture of IMC Corporation that was acquired by the Mallinckrodt Chemical subsidiary, and Nanosource Technologies, Inc., whose IP was acquired by the DuPont Chemical Corporation.
William Yuill, Ph.D., Physical Chemistry, has served as Manager of Process Development for two major US corporations. He has industrial experience in heat transfer, fluid flow, process modeling and reactor design as well as expertise in aerosol processes. Dr. Yuill is listed as co-inventor or sole inventor on 12 US Patents. In the early 90’s, Dr. Yuill was the program leader for the process development of nanoparticle titanium dioxide, a broad spectrum UVA/UVB attenuator. Dr. Yuill provides the team with expertise in nanoparticle physics and nanofabrication methods based on aerosol processes.
Donald Gibson, M.S., Biochemistry, brings twenty plus years of academic and industrial research experience to NBMI and XetaComp. As Associate Director of Operations for a medical diagnostic venture, he was responsible for maintaining GMP protocols in the production of key materials for the diagnostic device. As Senior Scientist, Mr. Gibson will provide process development expertise in the design of specific nanoparticle configurations for the client. Mr. Gibson is published in several peer-reviewed journals and is an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry at the University of Central Oklahoma.
